Production

When you accept a case, edonto creates its production steps from the workflow of each item – for example Model or scan preparation → Design (CAD) → Milling or printing → Sintering or casting → Ceramics, staining and glazing → Finishing and quality check for a zirconia crown. Fees such as shipping get no steps.

All lab members see the production; prices stay hidden from technicians and drivers.

Production board

Production → Production board shows all open cases in columns: Submitted, Accepted, In production, At try-in, Ready and Shipped. Each card shows the patient, case number, customer, items, delivery date (red when overdue, amber today or tomorrow), progress of the steps and the assigned technicians. Cases on hold stay in their column with an On hold badge.

  • Drag a card into another column to change the status, e.g. from Submitted to Accepted. Only moves that match an action you may perform are possible (see Cases); otherwise a message explains why.
  • Open a card to work on the steps.
  • Filter by technician (Assigned to me, With unassigned steps or a person) or search by case, patient or customer.

On phones, swipe sideways between the columns. The board refreshes itself every 30 seconds.

Steps on the case page

The case page of an accepted case shows Production above the items: all steps per item with their status, assigned technician and time.

  • Start runs a timer on the step. The first started step moves an accepted case to In production.
  • Pause stops the timer; Continue starts it again.
  • Finish completes the step (also possible without a timer with the check mark).
  • Reopen (arrow) undoes a completed step.

Everybody has at most one running timer: starting another step pauses the previous one. Putting a case on hold, sending it for try-in, marking it ready or cancelling it stops all its timers. When all steps are done, edonto reminds you to mark the case as ready.

Owners, administrators and lab managers assign steps: choose a technician per step or use Assign all open steps…. Technicians work on their own steps and on unassigned steps – starting an unassigned step assigns it to them.

My work

Production → My work is the technician's list: all accepted cases or cases in production with open steps assigned to you or to nobody, the most urgent first. The step you are working on is shown at the top with its running timer. The page works well on a tablet at the workbench.

Delivery calendar

Production → Delivery calendar shows the open cases by delivery date for a month. Each day shows the cases and the planned work still to do (sum of the planned minutes of open steps). Select a day to see its cases below the calendar; on phones the calendar is shown as a list of days. Overdue cases are counted at the top.

Job ticket

Select Job ticket on the case page to print the job ticket for the case box: case number, patient, customer, delivery date, all items with teeth, shade and details, notes and the production steps with columns for technician, date and initials.

The QR code opens the case's production steps – scan it with a phone or tablet to start or finish a step.
