Calendar
Under Practice → Calendar you manage the appointments of your practice. Link appointments to cases and edonto warns you if the lab work may not be there in time. All members see the calendar; owners, administrators, dentists and assistants change it.
The calendar
- On tablets and computers you see a week with a time grid from 7:00 to 20:00; the red line marks the current time. Overlapping appointments are shown side by side.
- On phones you see the appointments of one day as a list.
- Use the arrows and Today to navigate, and filter by practitioner or room.
- The color of an appointment shows its type (consultation, preparation/impression, try-in, seating/delivery, follow-up, other); the type is also written on it.
Book an appointment
Select New appointment or click a free time in the week. Then:
- Search the patient by name or record number – or enter a title for other entries (e.g. team meeting, blocked time).
- Choose the type. Try-in and seating suggest suitable durations.
- Optionally link a case of the patient (all open cases of the patient are offered).
- Set date, time and duration, the practitioner and the room, and add notes.
- Select Save.
edonto prevents double bookings: a practitioner or a room can't have two appointments at the same time.
To change an appointment, click it. Under Status you mark it as Confirmed, Completed or No-show, or cancel it.
Appointments and cases
When an appointment is linked to a case:
- the lab sees the patient appointment on the case and in its history – so it can plan the delivery,
- the case page shows the linked appointments under Appointments; Schedule opens the calendar with patient and case already selected.
edonto marks an appointment as at risk (red frame and warning sign) if
- the case's delivery date is after the appointment,
- the case has no delivery date,
- the case is on hold at the lab or was rejected or cancelled,
- the appointment is today or on the next working day and the work is not on its way yet.
The warning appears in the appointment dialog while you choose a date, in the calendar, on the case and on the dashboard (appointments at risk). Every morning edonto also sends a notification and an email about appointments of the next three days that are at risk – once per appointment, again if it is rescheduled.
Rooms
Select Rooms to add, rename or remove your treatment rooms. Removed rooms stay on past appointments.
Dashboard
The dashboard shows today's appointments and – if any – the appointments at risk of the next two weeks with the reason and a link to the case.
