Cases

Under Cases you find all work orders of your customers. The sidebar shows how many new cases are waiting for acceptance. The list shows open cases with the most urgent delivery date first; overdue cases are marked red. Use the views In progress, Drafts, Closed and All, the search (case number or patient) and the customer filter.

Receive a case

When a practice sends a case, the owners, administrators and lab managers of your lab get a notification and an email. The case page shows:

  • Items with teeth (in your tooth notation), arch, variants, shade and other details, components and notes,
  • prices and the estimated total from your price lists for this customer (only for roles that see prices),
  • delivery date, patient appointment, notes of the practice,
  • files – open photos and PDFs, download everything, view scans in 3D,
  • messages and the history.

Case numbers are assigned per lab and year when the case is sent: 2026-0001, 2026-0002, …

Work through the statuses

The main button always shows the next step; more actions are under ⋯.

Record a case yourself

For orders by phone or from customers who are not on edonto yet, select New case:

  1. Choose the customer and enter the patient as given by the practice (name or initials, record number, age, sex).
  2. Add the items with teeth, arch, variants and components – exactly as practices do (see Send cases).
  3. Add delivery date, notes and files and select Create case.

Cases you record are accepted right away and get a case number. If the customer is on edonto, the practice sees the case and is notified.

Production

Accepted cases get production steps from your workflows. Work on them on the case page, on the production board or in My work – see Production. Job ticket prints the ticket for the case box.

Edit a case

Until production starts you can Edit items, dates and notes; the estimate is recalculated with the current prices. The patient is only changed by the organization that created the case.

Remakes

When a practice requests a remake, you receive a new case linked to the original, with the same items and the reason (fit, shade, occlusion, fracture, shape or new impression). Both cases link to each other. For customers without an edonto account you can request the remake yourself on a delivered case (⋯ → Request remake). The remake keeps the original prices – adjust them with Edit if needed.
